10.15pm: Three balls fall off the break. Ortmann shakes his head, still angry at his last effort, just hoping for another shot.
10.12pm: Ortmann misses the 6-ball and is furious with himself. He hurls his chalk at his seat. He may not get out of the seat again. He lsoes the rack and Kuribayashi breaks for the match.
10.08pm: The rack swings when Ortmann produces a fine jump shot and leaves Kuribayashi in trouble. His next shot misses everything and Ortmann has ball in hand.
10.03pm: Unbelievable stroke of good luck for Kuribayashi. He looks to be scratching when trying to play safe on the red 3. But then the cue ball stuck just before the edge and jawed in the pocket. Ortmann hits the 3-ball but scratches. He shouldn't be bothering buying any lottery tickets with this bad luck.
10.00pm: Kuribayashi makes a good break but overcuts an attempt on the blue 2. Ortmann then pots the same ball but loses position and is woefully short on a safety attempt.
9.55pm: He loses control later on though. Ortmann's aiming for a thin cut on the red 3 but misses the ball completely. With ball in hand, Kuribayashi makes it 5-3.
9.48pm: No shot on the 1-ball after a legal break from Ortmann but a fine table-length pot on the same ball brings him back into control in the eighth.
9.45pm: Ortmann breaks and runs out the next. 4-3 to Kuribayashi.
9.39pm: A fine jump shot pots the 1-ball but Kuribayashi makes a rare mistake and leaves the 2-ball hanging. He doesn't get back to the table and Ortmann makes it 4-2.
9.37pm: Kuribayashi produces some amazing pool in the fifth. He unfortunately snookers himself but gets out of it with one of the best shots of the tournament. A two-rail escape not only hit the three but he gets the angle spot on and sends it down the side rail into the pocket. He is massively unlucky to not have a shot on the 5-ball but a kick shot sees a perfectly weighted hit and Ortmann is snookered. He hits it but leaves it on and the Japanese player makes it 4-1.
9.25pm: Second later it becomes 3-1. A golden break from Kuribayashi. The 6-ball crashes into the 9-ball and it zooms into the pocket. Ortmann is the first to realise it's a golden break and looks devastated.

9.18pm: Kuribayshi is not showing any nerves in this semi-final and wins the opener.
9.15pm: Ortmann wins the lag but the semi-finals starts in a nightmare fashion for the player dubbed 'The Machine'. He scratches off the break, the first time a player has done that in the televised stages of the competition.
9.13pm: The second semi-final is between two players who had to battle through qualifiers just to get to Vegas. Japan's Toru Kuribayashi plays German Oliver Ortmann.
8.55pm: Orcollo's heart skips a beat as he pots the 8-ball and the cue ball travels nervously close to the side pocket. But it stays on the table, the 9-ball disappears and Orcollo is in the final.
8.52pm: Orcollo needs a good break. He doesn't get it. It's dry. But then has Gomez in trouble as he later wraps up Gomez in a tough safety. He manages to hit the 1-ball, coming off of two rails to do, but leaves it on. Orcollo could win the match from here.
8.50pm: There's some drama in the closing stages of the rack. Orcollo pots the 6-ball but has no position on the 7-ball. However, Gomez misses the 7-ball and Orcollo grabs this opportunity with both hands. Orcollo on the hill.
8.37pm: It's in effect a race to two. Who will make the final? Gomez is first to flinch. His attempted two-rail escape from a snooker misses the 1-ball.
8.34pm: We haven't had a golden break yet. Oh, wait... now we have! Gomez's power break sees the 2-ball bump into the 9-ball and it vanishes. 6-6.
8.33pm: It's a high-quality encounter and every mistake is being pounced on. Gomez takes advantage of an error from Orcollo and makes it 6-5.
8.30pm: Orcollo moves back two in front. He only needs another two more.
8.25pm: Orcollo's illegal break in the next, the third rack in a row where he has messed up the break, leads to Gomez playing a safety. Orcollo tries to get out of it with a kick shot and he hits the one with the cue ball then knocking the 2-ball into the pocket. However, the cue ball then follows it into the same pocket. Gomez, with ball-in-hand, does the rest with a fine bank shot on the 6-ball leading to him winning the rack.
8.22pm: Orcollo's dry break brings Gomez back to the table. He can't make much use of it as he doesn't cover the 2-ball with a safety. It's out in the open and leads to the start of another rack won by Orcollo. 5-3.
8.14pm: Orcollo makes an illegal break in the next as three balls are not potted or go past the headstring. Gomez flukes the 1-ball and apologises to his opponent but it doesn't matter as he leaves the 2-ball on and Orcollo punishes him. Orcollo retakes the lead after winning his third rack in a row.
8.13pm: Orcollo runs out the next and we're level again.
8.10pm: But Orcollo gets a chance in the fifth when he capitalises from a dry break from Gomez, his second of the match. It soon becomes 3-2.
8.04pm: In no time, Gomez wins the next two racks to move 3-1 ahead.
7.55pm: Gomez comes into the match when Orcollo messes up a jump shot in the second. Superman Gomez then equalises the score. 1-1.
7.52pm: Orcollo makes a good start by claiming the first rack in this race-to-eight contest.
7.50pm: The first semi-final is between Dennis Orcollo and Roberto Gomez, meaning there will definitely be a Filipino in the final.
