Latest scores

Group 5: Jasmin Ouschan 4-9 Dennis Orcollo, Manny Chau 4-9 Ricky Yang.

Group 6: Carlos Cabello 4-9 Johnny Archer, Jayson Shaw 9-3 Lee Van Corteza.

Group 7: Imran Majid 3-9 Charlie Williams, Toru Kuribayashi 9-7 Tony Drago.

Group 8: Mika Immonen 0-9 Ralf Souquet, Ernesto Dominguez 9-3 Karen Corr.

8.37pm: The last match of Day Two has been finished and Charlie Williams completes a massive effort to defeat England's Imran Majid 9-3.

8.33pm: The last female player has been knocked out of the competition. Karen Corr's hopes were dashed by Ernesto Dominguez 9-3.

8.20pm: Two matches are still in play. Charlie Williams is 8-2 up over Imran Majid, while Ernesto Dominguez is 7-3 ahead of Karen Corr.

7.55pm: Jasmin Ouschan is also heading for the exit door. Her hopes of advancing ended at the hands of Dennis Orcollo, who wins 9-4.

7.45pm: Mika Immonen, the current world number one, slumps out of the 2010 competition after a masterful performance from Ralf Souquet, who completes a whitewash victory. Leading 3-0 Souquet then runs six racks in a row as Immonen is rooted to his chair.

7.34pm: Eberle exits after a hill-hill defeat against Ernesto Dominguez.

7.20pm: Johnny Archer becomes another American through. The hosts had a miserable day yesterday but they've made up for it today! Archer overcomes Carlos Cabello 9-4.

7.04pm: The Tornado has run out of steam as Tony Drago becomes another big-name casualty in what the players are describing as the toughest line-up in pool. Drago loses to Japan's Tori Kuribayashi 9-7.

6.58pm: Napoleon shows he is up for the battle as Marcus Chamat beats Dennis Orcollo 9-8 to go through 2-0. Orcollo will join him in the next round if he overcomes Jasmin Ouschan.

6.52pm: More celebration for Great Britain as Karl Boyes holds off a spirited fightback from Ralf Souquet to advance. Boyes had been 7-2 ahead but eventually won 9-7. I told you this Masters is tough and it doesn't get more tougher than Ralf Souquet v Mika Immonen. This is number four in the world versus number one in the world and would be a fitting Masters final. But, instead, it's a last-chance match. The winner goes through and the loser goes home.

6.46pm: Scotland's Jayson Shaw claimed a memorable victory over Lee Van Corteza to move into the last 32. A fine result for the Scot.

6.40pm: It's a fine win for 2007 Masters champion Thomas Engert. He wins a mammoth encounter with Charlie Williams 9-8. Williams, who has probably spent more time on the table than any other player in the competition, has no rest now. He's straight back out there in a do-or-die match with Imran Majid. It's certainly tough out there!

6.27pm: Ricky Yang, inside the top ten on the world rankings, safely makes it through to Friday. A 9-4 win over Manny Chau is enough.

6.18pm: Toru Kuribayashi triumphs over Ahmad Taufiq as the Brunei player's tournament ends in defeat.

6.00pm: In Group 8 Karl Boyes is two away from defeating Ralf Souquet, while Max Eberle needs four more to eliminate Ernesto Dominguez.

5.55pm: John Schmidt wins a classic 9-8 over Van Corteza. Schmidt had been 8-7 down but won the last two, including a fantastic last after gaining the advantage from a lengthy safety battle before Van Corteza scratched. With ball in hand, Schmidt did the rest and is another American into the last 32.

5.30pm: Karl Boyes is playing very well today. Fresh from running five racks in a row against Ernesto Dominguez, he now leads 5-1 against five-time Masters champion Ralf Souquet.

5.04pm: Mika Immonen, a loser in his opening match, had looked to be in trouble when he fell 3-2 behind against Polish youngster Bartosz Rozwadowski. But a sudden surge from Immonen sees him win seven on the spin and claim a 3-9 triumph. But there's still work to be done as he meets the loser of Mark Gray and Ralf Souquet later on.

4.59pm: The hopes of David Wilkie have ended. He could not get past Peruvian Manny Chau, who won 9-7.

4.53pm: An impressive day's work from Darren Appleton. A 9-2 win over Yu Ram Cha was followed by a 9-4 success over Ricky Yang. He is through in fine style and will be one the other players will want to avoid.

4.50pm: Lo Li-wen is the next man through. He beat Mika Immonen earlier in the day and just now beat Karen Corr 9-5. Corr has one last chance but it's a tough one as she meets either Karl Boyes or Ralf Souquet.

4.38pm: Imran Majid defeats Kevin Uzzell 9-6 and The Chancer is out. But it hasn't been a wasted trip for Uzzell as he won $3,000 on a Las Vegas slot machine last night!

4.37pm: Noel Bruynooghe is out of the Masters after a 4-9 loss to Carlos Cabello. But Bruynooghe's Vegas adventure is not yet over as he plans to marry his girlfriend of ten years while in Vegas.

4.20pm: Only one American made the last 32 yesterday but both of the first two qualifiers on Thursday are from the USA. Rodney Morris joins Stevie Moore in the next round thanks to a 9-6 victory over Johnny Archer.

4.12pm: American Stevie Moore is the first man through on day two into the last 32. His match with Tony Drago was close over the first seven racks but Moore then put his foot on the gas to storm to a 9-4 scoreline.

3.52pm: There will be a mouth-watering match on table seven later as England's Karl Boyes takes on German Ralf Souquet. The Kaiser has just come off the back of a 9-3 triumph over American Max Eberle.

3.46pm: Ralf Souquet leads Max Eberle 7-3, Imran Majid has a two-rack advantage over Toru Kuribayashi and Stevie Moore is 4-3 in front over Tony Drago.

3.39pm: Yu Ram Cha is out of the 2010 World Pool Masters. She lost to Jasmin Ouschan 9-7 and the Austrian lives to fight for one more match but will have to be at her best to beat either Marcus Chamat or Dennis Orcollo.

3.26pm: Rodney Morris is on his way to the last 32. He is 7-1 ahead of countryman Johnny Archer.

3.21pm: Chamat was made to work hard before beating game Peruvian Manny Chau. Chau had led 5-1 but Chamat fought back to triumph 9-7. Dennis Orcollo awaits for Chamat next.

3.10pm: Scotland's Jayson Shaw will be pleased to beat England's Neil Cummins 9-2.

2.59pm: The Brunei lad Ahmad Taufiq started well against Thomas Engert by winning two of the first three racks. But that's as good as it has been for Taufiq as Engert's experience has shown as he claims seven in a row to move to the hill.

2.51pm: Marcus Chamat is on the fightback trail. He was 5-1 behind against Peru's Manny Chau but five racks on the row has put him 6-5 ahead.

2.47pm: It is a walk in the park for Karl Boyes, a 9-1 winner over Ernesto Dominguez. It's been a bad two days for the Dominguez family as Oscar was eliminated yesterday and his father Ernesto is one defeat from joining him out of the tournament.

2.38pm: Day two is proving a much better day for America than day one was. John Schmidt becomes the fourth man to win his first match as he crushes Belgium's Noel Bruynooghe 9-2.

2.22pm: Peruvian hopeful Manny Chau leads experienced European Marcus Chamat 5-1, while it's looking easy for John Schmidt who has five with opponent Noel Bruynooghe failing to trouble the scores.

2.20pm: After an epic match of two hours, 20 minutes, Chinese Taipei's Lo Li-wen claims a fantastic 9-8 win over Mika Immonen, who must now beat Bartosz Rozwadowski to stay in the competition.

2.00pm: Lee Van Corteza follows Dennis Orcollo by cruising to victory. Carlos Cabello is the beaten player.

1.43pm: Simultaneous success for the hosts but bad news for England. Johnny Archer overcomes Neil Cummins and Stevie Moore beats Imran Majid, both by 9-4 scorelines. Archer now plays former Mosconi Cup team mate Rodney Morris for a place in the last 32, while Moore has a date with the Tornado Tony Drago.

1.40pm: Karen Corr wins comfortably 9-2 against Bartosz Rozwadowski. Dennis Orcollo cruises to an easy triumph. 9-1 over Shaun Wilkie.

1.37pm: An epic encounter is going on on table eight. Mika Immonen trailed 4-0 and 6-2 against Chinese Taipei's Lo Li-wen but the Iceman has stayed cool and won four on the bounce for 6-6.

1.32pm: Filipino stars Efren Reyes, Francisco Bustamante and Ronnie Alcano all crashed out yesterday but there was better news for fans from the Philippines as Dennis Orcollo is heading for an easy win over Shaun Wilkie and Lee Van Corteza is 4-0 on top over Spaniard Carlos Cabello.

1.27pm: Yang wins the next rack against Ouschan to triumph 9-4. Ouschan now faces an all-female clash with Yu Ram Cha. The loser is out.

1.15pm: Ricky Yang now leads Jasmin Ouschan 8-4, Johnny Archer is 7-3 up over Neil Cummins and Karen Corr is 7-2 in front over Polish lad Bartosz Rozwadowski.

12.55pm: Two more results. Rodney Morris overcomes Jayson Shaw 9-3, while Darren Appleton proves too strong for Yu Ram Cha and wins 9-2.

12.41pm: The first result of the day is in. Tornado Tony Drago blows Kevin Uzzell away by a 9-2 scoreline.

12.38pm: Rodney Morris, who thrilled the Riviera bar last night with a cracking karaoke rendition of Bon Jovi's 'Blaze of Glory', is on song again. He is 5-1 up on Scotland's Jayson Shaw.

12.32pm: Elsewhere, the three female players in action have made a good start. Jasmin Ouschan leads 2-1 over Ricky Yang, Yu Ram Cha is tied at 2-2 with Darren Appleton and Karen Corr is 2-0 in front ahead of Bartosz Rozwadowski.

12.30pm: There's a potential shock in the offing on table eight as Mika Immonen is 4-0 behind against Lo Li-wen.

12.20pm: Tony Drago is widely regarded as the fastest man in pool and has raced into a 6-1 lead over Kevin Uzzell.

12.08pm: Yesterday was a bad day for the hosts as only Dennis Hatch won through with four Americans eliminated. But day two has started better for them as Johnny Archer, Rodney Morris and Stevie Moore have all gained early leads in their matches against Britons Neil Cummins, Jayson Shaw and Imran Majid respectively.

12.00pm: Good afternoon and welcome to day two of the World Pool Masters.
