SCORE: GERMANY 10-4 THAILAND

7.55: Chinese Taipei collect their bronze medals, Thailand their silver medals and Germany the gold medals and the trophy.

7.50: GERMANY WIN THE 2011 PARTYPOKER.NET WORLD CUP OF POOL

7.48: Kanjanasri tries a jump shot on the 1-ball but the cue ball ends on the carpet and Thailand's chances are on the floor as well. Souquet pots the winning 9-ball and it's all over.

7.45: Hohmann leaves a 3-ball on Thailand claw another back. Germany aren't getting worried yet, maybe a bit annoyed at the Thailand mini fightback but Germany are sitting waiting patiently for their chance to claim the match.

7.37: Thailand run out the 12th and are at least making the score a bit more respectable.

7.27: A dry break from Hohmann and Thailand get to enjoy a bit more time at the table but Kanjanasri loses position for the 7-ball and their dream could be over but Hohmann misses a long 7-ball. Thailand delay the inevitable by winning the 11th rack. They trail 9-2 but it will be the greatest sporting miracle of all time if they can turn this around.

7.24: Germany reach the hill with another break and run. Ruthless! there's no other word for it...

7.15: It's relentless. Souquet and Hohmann clearly gave themselves a damn good talking to after their sub-par semi-final show and they're at their best as they waltz through the ninth game for 8-1. There can't be any way back for the Thais now, surely?

7.05: Souquet tucks Thailand up behind the 9 ball but they escape and end up having a shot on the 2 ball. Their run breaks down with a tough positional shot and they play safe. The Thais aren't getting many chances and those they receive, they are squandering. Souquet banks the 5 ball table-length and it's another elementary run out for the Germans.

6.58: The run stops when Germany are forced to push out in the next. They push to a jump but Kanjanasri goes off the rails to connect. Hohmann has a chance but leaves the 1 ball hanging. The Thais pocket it and lay a snooker on the 2 ball and Souquet fails as he connects but fails to hit a cushion. Germany are put in another snooker and Hohmann spectacularly kicks the 3 ball in. From there Germany run the table for 6-1.

6.54: Experts were predicting that Thailand would need to get a flyer if they were to have any sort of chance here and at 5-1 down now, it's looking mission impossible.

6.49: The Germans are all business now as they race through this one to go to 4-1.

6.45. 3-1 now. A decent break from Hohmann at last in the fifth game and it doesn't look good for the Thais.

6.40: The Germans stamp their authority on this one as they run the next to go to 3-1 ahead. They're not the same team who laboured over their semi-final win and the Thais have got a job on their hands.

6.33: This Star table has been breaking tough all week and Hohmann comes up with another dry one.  The Thais, who barely put a foot wrong this afternoon, dropped a clanger as Kanjanasri scratched into the centre pocket with half the table to put the cue ball. The gift was gratefully received by the Germans and they took the lead. 2-1.

6.25: It's an illegal break from Thailand and Germany are back at the table. A decent safety from Souquet creates the opening for Germany to take the rack and level the match at 1-1.

6.22: It's the sixth annual PartyPoker.net World Cup of Pool final as the unheralded Thailand - Kobkit Paljin and Nitiwat Kanjanasri take on the German powerhouse duo of Ralf Souquet and Thorsten Hohmann. After a couple of tidy safeties, Hohmann fails to hit a rail and with ball in hand, Thailand gain the initiative to win the opening rack.
