RESULTS: AUSTRALIA 3-8 SPAIN, INDONESIA 8-3 INDIA

QUOTES - MUHAMMAD BEWI SIMANJUNTUAK (INDONESIA): "I liked this match and we're vey confident in this tournament. I know India played well, especially Raj Hundal, but maybe this score was a good one. This is a big tournament, this is the World Cup and everyone in our country would be happy if we win this."

5.29pm: Indonesia finsh off the job to advance into the next phase. FINAL SCORE: INDONESIA 8-3 INDIA

5.26pm: Indonesia push out at the start of the 11th rack and Singh-Lilly fails on his shot on the 1-ball. Indonesia are now six pots away from victory.

5.18pm: Hundal fails to connect with a table-length kick shot and Indonesia, with ball-in-hand, look on course to move to the hill. They do so and now lead 7-3.

5.15pm: A thin cut on the pink four from Simanjuntuak gets a round of applause from the crowd and also helps his country move one rack closer to the magical victory target of eight. Zulfikri downs the 9-ball as they move two racks away from the win.

5.13pm: Indonesia have a good chance to increase their lead as Singh-Lilly's break comes up dry with an inviting shot on the 1-ball awaiting Zulfikri.

5.10pm: A risky jump shot from Simanjuntuak didn't look a good idea at the time and so it proved as he then leaves it on. That leads to it becoming 5-3 and both sides will be fancying their chances of joining France, China and Spain in the last 16.

5.07pm: They do instantly as Zulfikri's break is dry, although with no easy shot on the 1-ball Hundal opts to push out.

5.05pm: Indonesia run through the seventh from the break and now have a 5-2 lead. With the winner breaks format, India are hoping they get another chance.

4.55pm: Singh-Lilly lays a fine snooker, Zulfikri attempts a one-rail escape but misses the target 1-ball but India's attempts are thwarted as Hundal later misses the green 6. Zulfikri slides the 9-ball home and Indonesia lead 4-2.

4.53pm: The match is being played in good spirits with the players joking with a large crowd and at one stage all four players are out of their seats thinking it was their turn.

4.50pm: Singh Lilly leaves the 1-ball on after over-cooking a safety attempt and a 7-9 combination from Zulfikri restores Indonesia's lead.

4.46pm: Their second comes shortly afterwards as Singh Lilly and Hundal are working well together before an 8-9 combination from the latter ties the match at 2-2.

4.44pm: A shocking miss on the 9-ball from Simanjuntuak proves costly as Singh Lilly produces a fine table-length bank to give the Indians their first rack of the tournament. Simanjuntuak, to his credit, jokes with the crowd but will be furious at himself for that effort.

4.42pm: India turn down the chance and instantly regret the decision as Zulfikri banks the 2-ball. A large crowd are present at the SM North City Mall in Manila, with hundreds more watching from the balconies. We're on the fourth floor of the mall and this will be the hottest ticket in town later tonight as local heroes Efren Reyes and Francisco Bustamante, the Philippines B side, are in action against Qatar. That match should start at about 7.15pm local time.

4.40pm: The 1-ball is sunk off of Simanjuntuak's break but there is no easy shot to the blue 2.

4.38pm: India, who have never won a match in the competition, have now made two critical errors in both the opening two racks, both of which have been punished. 2-0 to Indonesia.

4.37pm: Zulfikri's break is a legal one but with no shot on, Indonesia are forced to play safe. They misjudge an effort but the Indians leave the 1-ball hanging over the pocket.

4.34pm: It's a nervous start as both sides miss shots before Singh Lilly leaves the 2-ball on. That mistake is punished and Indonesia lead 1-0.

4.30pm: Hundal defeats Simanjuntuak in the lag and India break first but Hundal's break is a dry one.

4.20pm: The second match of the second session features India against Indonesia. Included in the India team is Raj Hundal, who has previously played in this tournament for England in 2006, but as he is now recognised as playing for India he makes his return to the competition. His team-mate is Dharminder Singh Lilly and they will be up against the scrabble-busting duo of Muhammad Bewi Simanjuntuak and Muhammad Zulfikri.

4.10pm: A good break leaves a route open to the last 16 with no visible problems for Spain. Guzman pockets the 9-ball to put Spain safely through, although they know they will have to play better if  they're to progress any further. FINAL SCORE: AUSTRALIA 3-8 SPAIN

4.03pm: Spain move to the hill by claiming the tenth rack. It has certainly not been a perfect performance from the Europeans and Alcaide even miscued while playing the 2-ball but Australia were not capitalising on the Spanish mistakes.

3.56pm: The ninth rack is a catalogue of errors from both sides as Condo shouts 'oh, no' when he leaves a chance at the red 3. But Alcaide misses the brown 7l before Condo completes a horror rack for him with another mistake, this time on the 8-ball. Spain are grateful for the opportunity and now lead 6-3

3.52pm: Rafael Guzman makes a mistake in the eighth rack when his attempted two-rail escape from a snooker goes wrong and misses everything. Australia narrow the gap but still are two behind.

3.47pm: Australia have a great chance to win another rack but Jenkins scratches with two balls remaining on the table. Spain have ball-in-hand and it is soon 5-2

3.41pm: Australia pull a rack back to now trail 4-2

3.35pm: Spain appear in complete control and Alcaide, a former Mosconi Cup player, extends their lead to 4-1 and Australia have a lot of work to do.

3.26pm: That mistake proves crucial as Guzman rolls the 9-ball into a side pocket for a 3-1 lead.

3.24pm: Condo gives the Spanish a chance in the fourth rack when he downs the red 3 but then overscrews the cue ball as it travels the length of the table, straight into the top pocket.

3.21pm: Spain break and run out in the third and have a two-one lead in the early stages.

3.15pm: The Australians make a bright start by clinching the opener but a miss from Jenkins on the brown seven means Spain soon are on level terms.

3.10pm: Australia have never won a match in the World Cup of Pool before, while Alcaide and Guzman reached the last 16 in 2006 after defeating an England A team that included snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan.

3.08pm: The next match is Australia (Louis Condo and Greg Jenkins) versus Spain (David Alcaide and Rafael Guzman)

3.05pm: Hello and welcome to the second session of the 2009 PartyCasino.net World Cup of Pool. Already into the last 16 are France and China, while Australia, Spain, Indonesia and India are all hoping to join them.
